Small change of plan! tweetzerland #2 will not be at la buvette du Bateau but once again @ la Brasserie des Halles de l’Ile!

It’s summer, it’s hot, so come meet us for a drink on the Rhône and let’s have a good time talking about geeky stuff and other interesting subjects

Are you ready for the second tweetzerland event of the summer?
We hope so
Our plan is to get you all together on Thursday, August 13th from 6.30pm! Book your agenda!
We haven’t finalized the location just yet but we are thinking about doing it at la buvette du Bateau.

This is just a proposition, so if you know any other cool spot in Geneva for tweetzerland #2, let us know on twitter or by leaving a comment below!
Also feel free to share some ideas on what you would like to happen!

We are pretty stoked on the positive feedback we received about our tweetzerland logo so we’d like to give you a few details about how we came up with it and most of all acknowledge the work of it’s creator!
The tweetzerland logo was designed by a talented designer: Darja (@gartner)
(full disclosure: Darja is the girlfriend from one of the tweetzerland organiser )
The brief we gave her was pretty deep: the tweetzerland logo needs to have a connection both with twitter and Switzerland!
Which bird represents Switzerland best? We though of the cuckoo.
For the typo there was no discussion possible, helvetica was the obvious choice.
Darja then tried to integrate elements of the Swiss cross as well, and came up with 3 propositions:

We finally chose the second one which expressed a more positive feeling, with the cuckoo actually tweeting away and calling for other tweetzers to join us!
So after a little more cosmetic work, the final logo was delivered!

We thank Darja for designing a sick logo for tweetzerland and we are glad you like it!

Thank you once again for your presence yesterday! The tweetzerland team really appreciated to spend a couple of hours with all of you and we hope that it was the same for you!

We had great twitter stories from tomavana who is helping his friends in Madagascar spreading the news about the situation in his country, devoreur, who is teaching his students how to use twitter and we also were all stocked about the “teen” of the meet-up berious who was so up-to-date that we all learned something from him
We also thank the people of the procab team, mrc808, toopixel, yanngraf, david mendez, olivier rosset from fairtilizer. If we missed someone, shame on us..let us know!

We will keep you updated about our next meet-up which should be in approximately a month. Meanwhile if you have any suggestion or ideas don’t hesitate to shoot us a tweet! We will definitely work on a visual listing of the participants with a small bio for next time as requested.

La Brasserie des Halles de l’Ile re-opened about a month ago, just in time for the summer days and it’s really a perfect place right on the Rhône!
Located 1 Place de l’île, it’s just a short walk away from almost anywhere downtown Geneva:
